Journal with Paper & Pencil

Thank you both for doing this challenge with me. So now it's time to use the data we gathered to identify a small change we want to make going forward. The change we identify should be SMART.

S - specific

M - measurable

A - achievable

R - relevant

Well, I have to say journaling is very hard for me. Having said that it also makes me realize where my downfalls are. The last two days I have had grandkids for MEA and today another family of grandkids will be coming. They are my excuse for not having time to journal. My sleep has been sketchy. Lots of tossing and turning. My meal planning is healthy and consistent. I take meals to my 89 year old mom daily so this helps with my meal planning. With grandkids here I tend to wait on them and sometimes forget to eat myself. I realize this as I am finishing up their plates! I am going to miss not having garden vegetables readily available. I will need to replace with more salads. Snacking can be dangerous. Sometimes I find myself standing in the pantry searching for that perfect thing to munch on.…

Prioritize Protein
7 Day Journal

Well, I kept track yesterday. Late night partying with the group. I can certainly say that journal has confirmed that my challenge by far is just consistency, especially when faced with any excuse to stray into unhealthy, such as birthday party, girls night, conference, etc. Unfortunately for my consistency

there are many many parties, girls nights, etc.

That being said, one of the pillars to healthy living is socialization so maybe it balances out. Hhmmm....

Thursday's journal. I didn't sleep as well Wednesday night but otherwise had a fairly balanced eating day with a few more vegetables and I had seen earlier in the week. I got my 10,000 steps in and also taught a yoga class. Had a later night snack of a protein cookie. At least it was a protein cookie but really wasn't hungry and didn't need it. This is my overall biggest challenge. Eating when I'm not hungry. Fortunately I don't binge. I just eat enough unnecessarily calories to keep me from being in a calorie deficit. As far as any negative self talk, I'm pretty good about not doing this. I just continue to observe and wonder and try new things.
