Not getting sweaty during your strength workouts? Here's why:

If you don't feel like you're working hard unless you're sweaty or out of breath, you're not alone.
This is a very common mindset, especially if you've taken HITT, spin, or circuit-style classes. These workouts are fast-paced, with short rest periods and light weights, and they naturally produce more sweat.
Lower Rep strength training focuses on mechanical tension and neuromuscular efficiency. Mechanical tension creates strength and increases muscle mass. Neuromuscular efficiency equals how well your brain and muscles work together to move with power and control.
If your workout doesn't leave you breathless, you may feel like you're not doing enough.
However, strength training builds muscle mass, strengthens bones, and prevents frailty. More muscle mass means you burn more calories at rest.
You may not sweat like in an Orange Theory class, but you CAN sweat and raise your heart rate. Those come from lifting heavy enough, not from the movement itself. And that’s how you know you are lifting heavy enough.
You can experience all the benefits of strength training for yourself by joining my Summer Body Recomp program. Use this link to learn more.
Let's get stronger together.
I'd love to have you,
Julie.
